SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - 2008-09 BHS ABC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS 

The BHS Athletic Boosters Club is pleased to announce the acceptance of applications for the 2008-09 scholarship awards. The Athletic Booster Club will award two scholarships of $1,500 to deserving student-athletes. The scholarship recipients will be announced at the Spring Sports Awards ceremony. The 2008-09 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female. A master plaque with the names of all the recipients will be placed in the trophy area of the school. Please access the scholarship application by clicking here to download and complete the application process. All applications must be received on or before May 8, 2009.

Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia opened its doors in the 2004-05 school year. The Battlefield High School Athletic Booster Club (BHS ABC) was formed in that inaugural school year to raise funds to supplement the budget of the Battlefield High School athletic department, help foster school spirit, and promote involvement in the community through athletics. Functioning with a fully staffed Board and Executive Officers, the BHS ABC adopted a set of by-laws which governs its operations on behalf of the Bobcat student-athletes, the school and the community. We anticipate final approval of 501c(3) status in early 2009.

The BHS ABC has high aspirations on behalf of its student-athletes, dedicated coaching staff, school administration, and the community. We seek to achieve our goals and objectives for excellence in:

• academic and athletic pursuits,
• full student, parent and community participation, and
• fostering of a lifelong appreciation of the benefits of participation as a student-athlete in an academic institution.

We encourage your support and community partnership in helping Battlefield High School reach its full potential as the premier student-athletic environment in Prince William County and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
